"Maze of Love" (Nov2017)

Maze of Life

God has given us His promises, His precious promises. That we participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption of this world. 2 Pet 1:4 Of the many promises of God, I was reminded of one while spending a few hours with my wife, daughter-in-law and grandson at the Schilter Family Farm Pumpkin Patch last weekend. They have a hay bale maze for the children that reminded me a bit of life. The narrow path you must travel, only allowing one at a time. The many decisions you are faced with to reach your desired destination. The turn that looks to be a short cut but in reality is a dead end. The difficulty of turning back and seeking a new course after spending years going your own way. He says “I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you should go. I will counsel you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:8 That is comforting to me and encourages me to stay close to Him and do what He says.

As the holiday season approaches it’s not hard to be thankful for all that God has blessed us with. Even though in parts of the country and around the world, hurricanes and fire storms ravage homes and businesses, fields and forests and communities. War escalates, terrorism accelerates, and politicians divide us.  I am even more grateful for God’s favor, His amazing grace.

I’m thankful that our Heavenly Father is bigger than life and can see it all and can be trusated to get me safely to the other side.
